UAB Scholarships
To be eligible for the following scholarships, you must be admitted to UAB no later than Dec. 1.
~Presidential Scholarships, Presidential Recognition Awards, and Endowed Scholarships:
      -based on academic achievement (33-36 ACT and at least 3.0 GPA)
       -submission of the Supplemental Application (will be mailed to qualified applicants)
~Golden Excellence Scholarship
      -28+ ACT and at least 3.3 GPA
~Collegiate Honors Scholarship
      -25-27 ACT and at least 3.5 GPA
~UAB Breakthrough Scholarship
      -24 ACT and at least 3.5 GPA
~UAB Academic Achievement Scholarship
      -24-27 ACT and 3.0 - 3.49 GPA or 28 - 32 ACT and 3.0 - 3.29 GPA
 
The Beeson Exceptional Scholars Program (Samford Univ.)
To be eligible, one must have an ACT score of 28 or better and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.9.
Please see Mrs. Hinton if you are interested.  The deadline to submit the application is Dec. 1.
 
Gates Millennium Scholars
~Must be African American, American Indian/Alaska Native,
~Must be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the U.S
~Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 (unweighted)
~Must be enrolling in an accredited college or university full-time
~Must demonstrate leadership abilities through participation in
  community service, extracurricular, or other activities
~Must meet Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria
~Must have completed and submitted all 3 required forms by the
  deadline

Burger King Scholars

Auburn University Chemical Engineering Scholarship
To be eligible, a students must have specified Pre-Chemical Engineering as their major on the Auburn application.
Deadline is January 15, 2011
 
Troy University
Troy has several scholarships available with requirements ranging from a 22 to a 31 ACT score.  Please see Mrs. Hinton for the list of available scholarships.  Deadlines vary - earliest deadline is January 15, 2011. 
 
The Smith Scholarship Foundation
Must be a graduating senior from an Alabama high school
Must have a minimum C+ GPA
Must plan to attend a 4 year college in Alabama
Must be a significant contributor to family or community

KFC Colonel's Scholars
Must have minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
Must be enrolling in a public college or university state of legal residency
Must plan to pursue a bachelor's degree
Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
Must demonstrate financial need

Kids' Chance Scholarship
Available to students who have had a parent killed or permanently and totally disabled in an on-the-job accident.  Students may apply online at http://www.alfinc.org. Applications with the required documents must be received by May 1.
